OnFocus Team of the Week, January 17 – January 23

Team of the Week Nominees, January 17 – January 23

• Greenwood Boys Basketball – Since dropping a nonconference game to Abbotsford, Greenwood has picked up a pair of Cloverbelt wins over Gilman to move to 8-1 in the conference, a half game ahead of Columbus Catholic. Greenwood has five conference games remaining on the docket, four of them at home.
• Phillips Girls Basketball – The Loggers are flying high in the Marawood North, with an unblemished 9-0 conference record, 14-1 overall. Phillips picked up a pair of convincing wins this week: 72-47 over Prentice and a 71-19 win against Newman Catholic.
• Medford Boys Basketball – Medford is alone at the top of the Great Northern Conference with an 8-0 mark, 16-1 overall. The Raiders picked up three wins this week: 59-44 over Menomonie, 61-38 against Lakeland, and a 83-36 drubbing of Antigo.
• Edgar Boys Basketball – The Wildcats are tied for the Marawood lead with an 8-1 record, 12-2 overall. Edgar has won seven in a row, picking up three wins this week: a huge 59-47 win  over Athens; 66-42 over Wittenberg-Birnamwood; and a 77-46 defeat of Abbotsford.
• Neillsville Girls Basketball – The Warriors played just one game this week, but in a convincing 67-31 win over Colby, Neillsville improved to 10-0 in the Cloverbelt. The Warriors have a one and a half game lead over second Loyal, whom Neillsville has soundly defeated twice this season. Neillsville  hosts Columbus Catholic Monday evening to start a 5 game stretch to conclude season, with another Cloverbelt title looming.
