Neillsville’s Bella Opelt: Pancakes or Waffles? A Look at the Future Educator

Neillsville (OnFocus) – Neillsville’s Bella Opelt is a three-sport standout for the Warriors, excelling in all seasons of play. Catching up to outstanding area student-athletes isn’t easy, but we managed to snag Opelt for the world famous interview and all-important culminating question with the same title:  ‘Pancakes or Waffles?’

OnFocus: What classes are you taking this year?

Opelt: I am taking Trigonometry, Choir, Parents & Children, Intro to Sociology, Speech, and Intro to Teaching. The next semester I will be taking Trigonometry, choir, Intro Psychology, and a teaching practicum.

OnFocus: What is your favorite class?

Opelt: My favorite class this year would have to be the Intro to Teaching class.

OnFocus: What are your hobbies?

Opelt: Besides sports, I enjoy reading, going on adventures, and hanging out with friends.

OnFocus: Who is/was your favorite teacher?

Opelt: My favorite teacher would be Mrs. Stanley.

OnFocus: What is the most unusual food you have eaten?

Opelt: Mac and Cheese & Ketchup.

OnFocus: What is your favorite music to listen to?

Opelt: Country.

Opelt nominated: Athlete of the Week

OnFocus: What are your plans after high school?

Opelt: I plan on going to Ripon College and continue my basketball career and major in Early Childhood Education.

OnFocus: If they made a movie about you, and your life, what would it be called?

Opelt: “Life of a High School Athlete.”

OnFocus: What sports do you play?

Opelt: Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball.

OnFocus: Which teammate would you not want to be stranded with on a deserted island?

Opelt: My sister because we would end up arguing the entire time.

OnFocus: What is your most memorable moment as an athlete?

Opelt: My favorite moments would be all the bus rides and team dinners that we had.

OnFocus: Who is your favorite athlete?

Opelt: Kobe Bryant.

OnFocus: What do you enjoy most about playing home games?

Opelt: I like the feeling of knowing that my grandparents or other family members might be there at the game to watch me.

OnFocus: What’s the best thing about being a student-athlete at Neillsville?

Opelt: You get pushed to be a better person not just in school but in sports too.

OnFocus: What words of wisdom can you give to other student-athletes?

Opelt: Always give 100% whether it be in the classroom or during sports.

OnFocus: Lastly, pancakes or waffles?

Opelt: Waffles.
