Team of the Week Nominees, October 25 – October 31

  • Gilman Football / Newman Football -The pair of 8 Man Football teams are nearly unstoppable this season.  Gilman moved to 6-0 in the CWC West and Newman improved to 5-0 in the CWC East to maintain their positions  the top in the CWC 8 Man standings.
  • Cloverbelt VolleyballThree teams from the Cloverbelt West made it to state, an amazing feat: Fall Creek, Osseo-Fairchild, and McDonell Central. McDonell is D4, with Fall Creek and O-F heading to D3 state.
  • Medford Boys Soccer – It took a lengthy stretch of penalty kicks to settle the sectional final between Medford and Rice Lake, but when it was all over, Medford advanced to state after winning 6-5 in penalty kicks.

  • Prentice Volleyball – The #1 seeded Buccaneers punched their ticket to the Division 4 state tournament after a hard fought five set win over #2 Three Lakes in the sectional final. After winning the opening set 25-21, the Bucs dropped sets 2 and 3 before getting the win with scores of 25-22 and 15-12.
  • Edgar Football – The Wildcats improved to 6-0 with a 48-6 pasting of Shawano. Edgar has dominated opponents all season long, their only challenge coming from D3 Onalaska, who they defeated 12-7.
