ABBOTSFORD — Caleb Guden needed just one run of support to win on Sunday. He got 15. Guden threw all six innings against the Augusta Athletics, striking out 12 and allowing just two earned runs as the Abbotsford Merchants rolled to a 15–3 non-league victory.
Guden was dominant from first pitch to last. He finished with a 12-strikeout, four-hit complete game, facing just 22 batters through five of the six innings before Augusta scraped together a couple of base runners in the final frame. The one hiccup was an early two-run Augusta second inning, but Guden settled in and the Merchants offense made sure none of it mattered.

Tanner Hraby led the Merchants at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, a sacrifice fly, three runs scored, and three RBI. JJ Heller was right behind him, going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI of his own. Evan Wilkins reached base five times — two hits, two hit by pitch, and a stolen base — and scored three runs out of the nine-hole. The Merchants scored in five of six innings and put up six runs in the fourth and five more in the sixth to turn what was a close early game into a rout.
Blake Bargender went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Carson Carbaugh drove in two runs with a sacrifice fly despite going hitless. Augusta starter JJ Breaker took the loss, exiting after 3.1 innings after allowing nine runs. Austin Jagger gave up six more in 1.2 innings before Brennan King closed out the final frame cleanly. Augusta committed five errors, compounding an already difficult afternoon against one of the sharper pitching performances of the Merchants’ summer.
