TOWN OF MOUNT MORRIS, WI (OnFocus) – Waushara County authorities say a 36-year-old Wild Rose man was arrested in Utah and accused of killing his 75-year-old grandmother in the Town of Mount Morris.

Deputies were called to a home on Strawberry Circle around 7:44 p.m. Sunday, March 8, for a welfare check, according to the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office. Inside, they found Patricia Mae Glenn dead.

Investigators later identified the suspect as Randy Darius Jenks. Prosecutors charged him in Waushara County with first-degree intentional homicide.

According to the criminal complaint, family members became concerned after they could not reach Glenn. Relatives told investigators Jenks said he had stabbed his grandmother and fled to Utah. Authorities said Ogden police took him into custody there.

The complaint alleges Jenks later made additional statements to relatives admitting to the killing. Investigators also reported recovering a blood-covered knife at the Utah residence where he was found.

The sheriff’s office said there is no threat to the community.

Jenks is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
