MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – On Monday July 6, 2026 at approximately 6:30a.m. Marshfield Police along with Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department, were dispatched to a single vehicle that went off the roadway in the 2000 block of S. Roddis Ave.

Upon arrival, a 32-year-old Marshfield female was rescued from the driver seat of the vehicle and transported to Marshfield Medical Center where she remains in critical condition. A 34-year-old Owen male was a passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced deceased.

Both individuals appeared to have sustained single gun-shot wounds. Police believe this is a result of domestic violence and that this was an isolated incident. There is no known risk to the community at this time. Wildwood Park’s drive-through was closed for a period of time this morning, but is now reopened.

“Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the involved families,” MPD said in a statement. “If you or someone you know is involved in a domestic violence relationship please contact local law enforcement or call the Domestic Abuse Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.”

No further information is being released at this time.
