Rib Lake clinched the Marawood North conference title with a 42-25 win over Athens.
Rib Lake’s defense set the tone, holding Athens to just 11-of-35 shooting (31.4%), 0-of-4 from three, and only 3-of-13 at the free-throw line. Athens managed 25 points despite hauling in 28 total rebounds; the Bluejays’ offense struggled to find rhythm against a physical Rib Lake front.
Itzel Espinoza-Quiroz led Athens with 11 points, followed by Sy’Rih Hartwig with 6 and Ellis Baer with 4.
Rib Lake moved to 12-7 and will next head to Edgar on Thursday night. Athens falls to 7-12 and will next head to Newman Catholic on Friday.
