Marathon’s Thurs finishes 28th; Auburndale girls 8th, Assumption 9th at D3 State CC Meet

West Salem (OnFocus) – A chilly and windy day greeted racers at the Division 3 State Cross Country Meet, and area girls to the course fighting the conditions while competing at state.

Leading the way among area runners was Julianna Thurs of Marathon, who finished 28th overall, in a time of 20:27.52.

The Auburndale girls team took 8th place with 171 points, ahead of 9th place rivals Assumption, which had 184 points.

Auburndale was led by Mckenna Zieher and Jordyn Karl, who finished 41st and 50th overall, respectively.

Assumption was paced by Ainara Sainz De Roz and Grace Dolan, who finished 33rd and 57th overall, respectively.
