MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) — Construction is underway on a new Chipotle Mexican Grill on North Central Avenue in Marshfield, though the company has not announced an opening date.
The restaurant is being built next to the former BMO bank building near 1305 N. Central Ave. in the Marshfield Towne Centre development. Chipotle’s careers website lists a general manager position for a new restaurant opening in Marshfield at 1307 N. Central Ave.
The project was first brought before the Marshfield Plan Commission earlier this year as a conditional use permit request for a new fast-casual restaurant. Plans called for a 2,371-square-foot restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a Chipotlane pickup lane.
The proposal included construction on about 0.67 acres of the former bank parcel, which was to be split into two lots. Plans also called for portions of the existing parking lot to be removed to make room for the restaurant.
No official opening date has been released. Based on the current stage of construction and similar restaurant build-out timelines, the Marshfield location could open this winter, though that timeline has not been confirmed by Chipotle.
The restaurant would add another national chain to the North Central Avenue corridor, one of Marshfield’s busiest commercial areas.
