On the most recent episode of Writers & Readers of Central Wisconsin, host Lisa Boero interviews author and motivational speaker, Kyle Willkom. A 2008 graduate of Marshfield High School, Willkom is the author of two books, “Wake-Up Call” and “The Thinking Dilemma.”

After graduating from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Willkom founded “Action-Packed Leadership,” and now speaks to high school students throughout the country to help motivate them to dream and achieve big.

Willkom’s initial motivation for writing leadership books stems from one auspicious plane ride.

“I was on an airplane flying back from a leadership program I was running and through a series of crazy events, these flight attendants upgraded me to first class,” he said. “I met this guy and he challenged me to read a couple books on leadership. I read these books and I thought they were great and that they hit on some key points, but I thought some of the lessons need to be told, one, in a more engaging way and two, to a different market. People need to learn these things at a younger age.”

Using his books, combined with comedy, music, and powerful messages, Kyle now spends his days working to motivate and inspire crowds.
