Thomer and Kowalski Pace Mosinee Boys in Thumping of Medford

Mosinee vs. Medford  Won:  85-49

 

The Mosinee boys basketball team took it to the court against one of the conference best in Medford.  Mosinee would come out on top with an 85-49 victory.  Mosinee came out with some strong defense and held Medford to a 42-12 halftime lead.  Mosinee was led by Landen Thomer with 10 points, Garrett Shupe and Cole Kowalski with 9 points, Keagen Jirschele with 7 points, Aidan Shaughnessy with 5 points and Treve Stoffel with 2 points at the half.  Mosinee was able to keep Medford from hitting their typical threes in that first half with aggressive defense from all the players.

Coming out of the half, Mosinee was able to continue with their scoring and aggressive defense on a very good Medford basketball team.  Medford would find some rhythm in their offense, but it was a little too late for a comeback.  Mosinee would finish the game with an 85-49 victory for their first conference win of the season.

Mosinee was led in scoring by Landen Thomer with another double-double with 19 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and going 1 for 1 at the free throw line, Cole Kowalski had another strong game with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals while hitting 1 three and going 1-2 at the free throw line, Keagen Jirschele played great defense while adding 14 points, 4 steals, 3 assists while going 2-3 at the line, Garrett Shupe would add 12 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal while hitting 4 threes for the night, Treve Stoffel added 11 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal while hitting 1 three, Aidan Shaughnessy had a great game coming off of surgery with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and going 1-2 at the free throw line, Andrew Carlson and David Haskins would add 2 points each along with valuable minutes and add huge contributions on the defensive side of the court.
