Spencer (OnFocus) – The Spencer/Columbus Rockets concluded the regular season with a hard-fought 17-6 win over Shiocton.

“We are real proud of the effort tonight. We had a stellar game defensively and on special teams,” said S/C Head Coach Jason Gorst.

Brock Bennington began the scoring with an interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter. Bennington added a 13 yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter and added the two point conversion to make the lead 14-0 S/C.

As time ran out to end the first half, Bennington connected on a 41 yard field goal.

“The field goal unit did a great job on Brock’s 42 yard field goal and our punt team flipped the field well,” Gorst added. “Defensively we contained their offense and executed well!”

Bennington led all rushers with 117 yards on 21 carries, and added two receptions for 17 yards.
