MARSHFIELD — Dawson Luther did a little bit of everything Tuesday night, homering, driving in three, and going 5.2 innings on the mound to lead the Marshfield Post 54 Blue Devils 19U past the Wausau Legion Post 10 Bulldogs, 9–4.

Luther’s home run was the signature moment of the game, adding four total bases to a night where he also went 1-for-4 at the plate with three RBI. On the hill he scattered three runs over 5.2 innings, striking out six and walking four before Mason Anderson came on to close it out. It was the kind of two-way performance that turned a close game into a comfortable final.

Marshfield’s offense built the lead in two key bursts. The Blue Devils plated a run in the first on an RBI opportunity that put Wausau on notice early, then broke the game open with three in the fourth. Nathan Richardson had a strong night all around, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and crossing the plate twice. Anderson chipped in two hits and two runs of his own, and Sadowska was a catalyst at the top of the order — reaching twice and stealing a base.

The fifth inning was the knockout blow. Marshfield sent nine men to the plate and scored five times, putting the game out of reach at 9–1. Bryce Schade delivered a sacrifice fly among his two RBI, and the Blue Devils kept the pressure on with two outs. Wausau’s Davis Winter, who had a solid night at the plate going 2-for-4 with a double, shouldered the pitching load through five innings before the damage proved too much. Marshal Helke provided Wausau’s best offensive moment with a two-run double in the sixth, but the Bulldogs never truly threatened to climb back in.

Wausau’s late-game push — three in the sixth and one in the seventh — showed some life, but Marshfield’s cushion held. Anderson finished the final 1.1 innings and recorded the save, allowing one run on three hits while striking out one.
