Edgar uses six forfeits to down short-handed Auburndale wrestling

EDGAR – Auburndale won five matches by pin, but couldn’t overcome six forfeits and dropped a Marawood Conference wrestling dual meet to Edgar 54-30 on Thursday night at Edgar High School.

The short-handed Apaches put up a good fight, winning five of the first six matches, all by pin.

Noah Altmann (106 pounds), Tanner Larson (120), Hunter Godard (126) and Isaiah Hasenohrl (132) all won with pins in the first period of their matches for Auburndale, and Brent Lau also earned a pin in the second period of his match at 138.

Edgar then won the next five matches by forfeit and finished off the team win with three-straight pins.

Auburndale hosts its annual tournament on Saturday.
