MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Thanksgiving morning brought some freezing rain and slippery conditions. Accidents were reported all over central Wisconsin and in Marshfield.

One poor yield sign took the brunt of two accidents as at 10:15 a.m. and then again at 10:45 a.m., the Marshfield Police Department responded to reports that the sign had been hit.

The first incident involved a 2021 Toyota Camry that slid over black ice and hit the sign. The front left corner of the vehicle was damaged and the sign slid down the side of the vehicle and caused damage to the left doors and left rear of the vehicle.

About 25 minutes later, after the first accident was cleared, a second vehicle slid over the ice on the road and hit the sign. The 2004 Buick LeSabre hit the sign and caused minor damage to the front and left front of the vehicle.

Both operators and their passengers were not injured and the vehicles were able to be removed by the operators.
