WRPD Reminds People to Be Aware of Mental Health Struggles of Veterans

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) -As the War in Afghanistan and 20 years of U.S. Armed Forces fighting halfway across the globe comes to a conclusion, we are reminded that the fighting and the battle doesn’t stop there.

Veterans of any war and especially the most recent conflict come home and deal with mental health issues every day.

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department reminded those that are struggling with PTSD or any mental health issues as their lives change that there are people and resources that are willing to help.

In a Facebook post, the department said, “We love and support our military veterans and their families. We know someone out there needs to see these phone numbers. Please look after yourselves, your families, and each other.”

The post then listed phone numbers associated with mental health hotlines intended to help military veterans adjust to life back in the United States.
