Neenah (OnFocus) – Stevens Point Area Senior High opened Week 1 of the Football Season almost 7 months later than normal. The Panthers kicked off the Alternate fall sports season for football with a 20-14 win over Neenah.

The Panthers scored the game-winning touchdown with 4:38 left as Cole Kerchefski scored on a six yard run.

Neenah took its only lead of the game with just over four minutes remaining in the first quarter. SPASH fought right back to take a 7-6 lead when Riley Warzynski connected with Quinton Martin for a 23 yard score. The extra point from Sam Ollech put SPASH on top.

Kerchefski’s 46 yard run on the opening drive of the second half pushed the Panthers’ lead to 14-6.

Neenah scored on a big 59 yard touchdown pass early in the final quarter before SPASH scored on their winning-drive.

Kerchefski had 27 rushes for 132 yards and the pair of touchdowns.
