River Falls’ Ground Game Dominates in Win over Wisconsin Rapids

River Falls and Wisconsin Rapids opened the 2022 football season in a matchup of teams with historically strong running games. River Falls proved to be too much for Rapids in the opener, picking up a 28-7 win on the strength of a powerful running game.

The Red Raiders opened the scoring in the second quarter with a 25 yard fumble return from Brennan Huber before River Falls tied the game at 7 going into halftime.

After the break, it was all River Falls, as the Wildcats piled up 252 yards on 48 rushes. Wisconsin Rapids was limited to 102 yards on the ground on 30 carries.

Greyson Reimer had 7 tackles and 8 assists for Rapids, with Carter Christy collecting 4 tackles and assisting on 12 others.
