Rib Mountain Man Dies of Natural Causes while Hunting

A hunter found unresponsive on Saturday, Nov. 23 died of natural causes while preparing a deer he had shot in the town of Russell, said Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

Charles Augustine, 66, of Rib Mountain, was discovered by members of his hunting group and called 911 at 1:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead on scene by the coroner.

Merrill Fire Department and Town of Russell responders were called to the scene.
