Rapids Girls Fall to Onalaska


Onalaska (OnFocus) – The Wisconsin Rapids girls had a last minute opportunity to add a game to their schedule Monday evening, and went to the road to take on the ranked Onalaska Hilltoppers. After a close battle throughout, Onalaska picked up the win, 71-60.

The Red Raiders held the early lead and led by one at the half, 29-28.

Rapids took charge at the beginning of the second half, building their largest lead of the game at 9, before Onalaska fought back.  Onalaska  took control down the stretch while Rapids went cold, and the Hilltoppers proved to be too much in the end.
Rapids was paced by Vanessa Vechinski with 21 points 9 rebounds, and Megan Clary added 15 points.
Alli Martin had 9 points, 9 boards and 4 blocks for Rapids.
