Col. Bryan K. Friedrichsen, age 65, left this home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center and went to join his father in his heavenly home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time. Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Following the service, a time for sharing memories and a meal will be served at Rembs Celebration Center.
Bryan was born on May 22, 1958, in Neillsville, the fourth of four children of Robert and Corinne (Bruhn) Friedrichsen. He is a 1976 graduate of Pittsville High School, where he excelled in wrestling, track and field, vocal music, and forensics. He then attended the University of Wisconsin, Marshfield, Wood County Campus. Bryan worked as an apprentice electrician, cattle A.I. technician, operated a farm north of Spencer and became an auctioneer for Mid-State Auction, also enjoying auctioneering for many charitable organizations. He was a real estate broker and past president of Central Wisconsin Board of Realtors. He was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield and past member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sherwood.
Bryan referred to himself as the world’s worst tourist and was an innovative chef, famous for his chili even though he never made it the same way twice.
He is survived by his mother, Corinne, and siblings. Terry, of Rodeo, NM; Rod (Karen) Friedrichsen of Marshfield; and Cathy (Gary) Beardmore of Brownsville, MN. He loved his nieces and nephews, Dennis, Tami, Kelly (Paul Totzke) Friedrichsen and great nephew Reid, and Adam (Xinh) and Ryan (Ashley) Beardmore and great nephew Jackson and great niece Harper.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, in 2004 and a sister-in-law, Stephanie, in 2021.
