Alice Anna Abbott passed away at the age of 95 on Friday November 21, 2025.
Alice was born on March 27, 1930 in rural St. Charles, MN to Paul and Anna Pagel. She grew up and was educated in the St. Charles area and later attended the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN where she graduated in 1951 with her three-year Registered Nurse Diploma.
Alice was married to William (Bill) Abbott on August 27, 1955 and soon after moved to the Marshfield, WI area where she raised her family and worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She retired in 1995 after forty years of service.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Paul and Anna Pagel; brothers Robert (Betty) Pagel, William Pagel and Vernon Pagel; sisters Evelyn (Alfred) Fabian, Bernice (Virgil) Johnson and Doris Pagel.
She is survived by her sons Scott Abbott (Michael Wilson) of Taos, NM, Douglas (Cathryn) of OH; daughters Kimberly (Samuel) Miller of Maple, WI and Michelle (Brian) Mader of Schofield, WI. Her grandchildren Ryan Abbott, Laura Abbott, Paige (Lorenzo) Trevino, Caden (Alison) Van Ooyen, Ayla Mader and great-grandchildren Dahlia, Maliya, Rio, and Nico with another great-grand daughter on the way.
Alice is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, friends and her dear friends Scott and Julie.
Alice’s family wants to thank the residents and staff of Oak Heights Assisted Living Facility in Kronenwetter, WI for the loving and compassionate care they provided her this past year.
A celebration of Alice’s life will be held December 6, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 12:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home, 300 S. Oak Ave, Marshfield and a luncheon to follow. Alice will be interred with Bill at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on December 8, 2025.
Alice will be remembered for her kindness, strong work ethic and her dedication to the nursing profession, but most importantly, as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed but she has filled all of our lives with wonderful memories to cherish.
