Mosinee Trounces Northland Pines

Mosinee vs. Northland Pines  Won:  79-35

 

Mosinee hosted Northland Pines in their third conference game of the season along with having time to celebrate youth night.  It was a tight battle for the first five minutes until Mosinee started setting the pace.  Mosinee would put up 42 first half points to Northland Pines 23.  Mosinee was led in scoring in the first half by Keagen Jirschele with 11 points, Landen Thomer with 10 points, Treve Stoffel with 10 points, Aidan Shaughnessy with 5 points, Garrett Shupe with 4 points, and Cole Kowalski with 3 points to round out scoring.  Out of the half, Mosinee would kick it in gear with better half court defense.  They would give up a total of 12 second half points. The game ended with a score of 79 for Mosinee and 35 for Northland Pines.

Mosinee was led in scoring by Landen Thomer with 21 points, 20 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks while hitting one 3 and going 2 for 4 at the free throw line.  Keagen Jirschele would add 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal while hitting one 3 and going 1 for 3 at the free throw line.  Treve Stoffel would add 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal while hitting 2 for 4 at the free throw line.  Aidan Shaughnessy added 11 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal while hitting one 3 and hitting 2 of 3 at the free throw line.  Cole Kowalski added 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals while hitting two 3’s.  Garrett Shupe added 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist while going 2 for 2 at the free throw line.  Andrew Carlson and Trent Gorski added 2 points each to round out the scoring for the night.  The boys are 7-1 overall with a 3-0 conference record.  The Mosinee JV1 team won tonight 53-25, the JV2 team won 59-16, and the JV 3 team lost to Omro 21-68.  Mosinee will be off for over a week to celebrate the holidays with their families and then they will get back into action at the Green Bay Preble Holiday Tournament.  Mosinee will kick off the tournament against the host Green Bay Preble on Thursday, December 28th at 3:30.
