Mosinee Boys Clobber Antigo

Mosinee vs. Antigo  Won:  71-18

The Mosinee boys basketball team traveled to Antigo for their second non conference game of the season.  Mosinee would come out on top with a 71-18 team victory.  The game started out with some long defensive possessions for the team until the boys upped the pressure to push the tempo.  The first half score was 40-14 Mosinee.  Mosinee was led in the scoring category by Keagen Jirschele with 13 points, Landen Thomer with 9 points, Garrett Shupe with 9 points, David Haskin with 3, Aidan Shaughnessy with 2, Cole Kowalski with 2 points, and Treve Stoffel with 2 points to round out the halftime scoring.  Mosinee’s defense came out with lots of intensity in the second half and gave up only 4 points total in the second half.

The game ended with Mosinee scoring 71 points while only giving up 18 total points.  Mosinee was led by Garrett Shupe with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal while hitting 4 threes.  Keagen Jirschele added 15 points, 7 steals, 5 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 rebounds.  Landen Thomer continued his great play with another double-double with 13 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals.  Cole Kowalski scored 10 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals while going 4 for 4 at the free throw line.  Treve Stoffel added 5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.  David Haskin provided 5 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal while hitting 1 three.   Aidan Shaughnessy scored 4 points, 1 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 block.  Andrew Carlson scored 3 points and grabbed 1 rebound while hitting 1 three.

Mosinee is now 6-1 overall for the season and 2-0 in conference.   Mosinee will play another conference game at home on Tuesday next week against Northland Pines.
