Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation Leads to Arrest of Clark County Sheriff’s Sergeant

In a joint operation, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant in the Village of Spencer. The warrant was issued as part of an ongoing investigation into Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC).
The target of the investigation was identified as a Sergeant within the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Following the execution of the search warrant, the suspect was apprehended and subsequently booked into the Taylor County Jail.
Charges levied against the individual include Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Child Enticement, Threats to Injure or Accuse of Crime, and Threats to Communicate Derogatory Information.
During a bond hearing, the suspect was granted release upon posting a $2500 cash bond, in addition to a $10,000 signature bond.
At present, the identity of the Clark County Sergeant is being withheld pending further investigation. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has pledged full cooperation with the ongoing inquiry.
