Prentice dropped the first set before firing back and reeling off three straight, downing Abbotsford 16-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-22.

Leading the way for the Buccaneers was senior Lydia Harting, who collected her 2000th career assist in the fourth set. One of the rarest achievements in high school sports, Harding reflected on the accomplishment.

“I think it’s just the amazing teammates. I get the ball up there and they just make it happen,” explained Harding.

Harding was relieved the mark was reached.

“I had all this pressure on me, and I finally achieved it, it’s such a relief.”

Harding went on to explain the keys to reaching a career milestone that escapes most volleyball setters.

“This shows our amazing effort and our hard work, we’ve worked so hard and it’s resulted in success.”
