Wheeler’s Family Auto Group Expands Electric Vehicle Inventory

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Wheeler’s Family Auto Group is taking important steps towards an electrifying future by expanding its electric vehicle (EV) inventory with the addition of the Hummer Truck, Hummer SUV, and Blazer EV. This expansion reflects Wheeler’s commitment to promoting sustainable transportation options in Central Wisconsin.

Wheeler’s Family Auto Group has long been a pioneer in the EV market, and they continue to lead the way by introducing cutting-edge EV models to their customers. The new additions, including the iconic Hummer Truck, versatile Hummer SUV, and the sporty Blazer EV, showcase their dedication to offering a wide range of electric vehicles to meet the diverse needs of their customers.

In their pursuit of a greener tomorrow, Wheeler’s Family Auto Group previously became the first dealership in the nation to participate in General Motors’ revolutionary Dealer Community Charging Program. This innovative program is a crucial part of GM’s goal to deploy 40,000 Level 2 EV chargers across the United States and Canada. It places a special emphasis on expanding access to EV charging in local communities, including underserved, rural, and urban areas where charging infrastructure is often limited.

Wheeler’s Family Auto Group worked closely with GM to purchase and install five EV chargers. Importantly, these charging stations are accessible to all EV customers, not restricted to those who purchase a GM EV.

Today, nearly 90 percent of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a GM dealership, making the Dealer Community Charging Program an essential part of GM’s commitment to promoting sustainable transportation options.

Wheeler’s Family Auto Group invites everyone in Central Wisconsin to experience the future of transportation with their expanded EV inventory and easy access to electric vehicle charging.

Electric Truck Towing: Real-World Test Reveals Impressive Performance

Prospective electric truck buyers often wonder about their towing capabilities, especially for outdoor enthusiasts seeking to haul heavy loads for activities like camping and boating. In a recent video, Destination EV Travel embarked on an illuminating journey, putting a 2023 Hummer EV 3X truck to the test by towing a 5000-pound trailer for nearly 100 miles.

This real-world trial encompassed a mix of interstate highways, county roads, and city streets, providing valuable insights. Their findings revealed that while the electric truck’s range did experience a reduction when towing, it still demonstrated remarkable endurance.

For those considering electric trucks for towing purposes, this test offers reassuring evidence of their ability to handle substantial loads over extended distances, even with a slight decrease in range.
