Rae Baxter’s Gets Creative After State-Mandated Closure

In response to Governor Evers’ order that all nonessential businesses must close, businesses downtown are finding creative ways to reach their customers.

Carol Knauf, owner of Rae Baxter’s Fashions, said this is the first time in the business’s 70-year history downtown that it has been mandated to close.

“It is unprecedented, but we hope it helps keep everyone healthy and safe,” said Knauf. “To keep the business going, we have had to get creative. Hopefully, we are able to see everyone back in-store again soon.”

They also maintain an active presence on Facebook and Instagram and if an outfit catches someone’s eye, they are encouraged to message the page to reserve it or have it shipped free-of-charge.

Like other small businesses, customers can also support Rae Baxter’s by purchasing a gift card for use at a later date. Right now, anyone who purchases a Rae Baxter’s gift certificate for $100 receives $25 in Baxter Bucks.

“We are so thankful for our customers, especially now. Their continued support during this unprecedented time means the world to us,” said Knauf. “We appreciate your past patronage and look forward to visits in the future. We are in this together and we will persevere.”
