Since you have covered a similar data story in the past, I thought you might find our latest data useful.
At first, a sample of comments from the subreddits of the MLB fandoms was collected (with a minimum of 15,000 comments per fandom) and subsequently it was analyzed how much % of their comments included swear words.
According to an analysis of 1.2 million comments:

Oakland Athletics were found to be the most foul-mouthed fandom since 6.51% of the comments on their subreddit included swear words

Cleveland Guardians turned out to be the second most foul-mouthed MLB fandom (6.06% of their comments included swear words) followed by Miami Marlins in third place with 5.91% of their comments including swear words

On the other hand, Cincinnati Reds were found to be the most polite fandom since only 2.86% of their comments included swear words

The second and third most polite fandoms turned out to be Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs, respectively – only 3% of the comments of Philadelphia Phillies included swear words while only 3.2% of the comments of Chicago Cubs included swear words

Each fandom was assigned a percentage value based on the % of the comments on their subreddit that contained swear words

Minimum number of comments collected per fandom: 15,000

The final analysis was carried out in April 2025
