Construction Offers a Variety of Career Choices

It’s construction season, and for those looking for a great career which also allows time for travel, consider employment with Trierweiler Construction & Supply Company.

“We have various types of jobs from laborer, and finisher, operator or truck driver,” said Joey Trierweiler.

With a season that runs from April 1 to late November, with opportunities for snow-plowing work in the winter, seasonal workers have several months to fully enjoy their hobbies while earning a full-year salary in just seven months.

“Basically the major benefit is you get your winters off to be able to travel, go ice fishing, and snowmobile,” said Trierweiler. “The majority of the our employees, besides the people in Marshfield, consider it seasonal and they return every year. We’ve got guys who’ve worked here for over thirty years.”

Workers as young as 18 have joined the team, and the work can quickly set them up for college expenses.

Given that all of the work is outside, employees should enjoy the outdoors and be a self-motivated worker who’s willing to work well with others. “I look for someone who’s willing to jump in and do every different aspect of a job,” said Trierweiler. “Someone who’s not scared to get dirty, who’s basically willing to do just about anything and learn every part of the job.”

The company’s priority is to make it not just another position to get by, but a friendly place to work. “One of biggest things that we try to strive for is to make it like a family atmosphere. We like to know everyone here and treat them as family. We don’t like to treat them like a number,” said Trierweiler.
