Rafters Update: Jacob Rosenkranz

Hey Rafters fans It’s Griffin here. For those of you who don’t know. 2023 Rafter, Jacob Rosenkranz was hit in the head with a baseball during practice at Missouri Baptist College in late September. Jacob fractured his skull and was taken to the hospital immediately. Jacob has been making great progress since the incident and over the last couple of months has seen great results from therapy. Jacob has had tremendous support from his family, friends, and teammates. The Rafters community has certainly shown their support to Jacob by showing their care and compassion to him and his family.

Jacob was scheduled to have an operation to repair his skull on Wednesday, December 13th. Jacobs surgery went as planned and went well! Jacob spent 7.5 hours in the recovery room before being transferred to his room allowing visitors. The doctor said things went well and he had minimal scar tissue to work through. They were able to successfully reattach his temporalis muscle (main chewing muscle) to the new skull implant. This is great news in hopes of avoiding future TMJ pain issues. He currently has a drain placed and discharge from the hospital depends on how soon it can be removed. The doctor is guessing Friday discharge at this point.
