Marshfield, WI (OnFocus) Ginger Sternweis is a 2017 graduate from UWSP, completing both her A.A.S. and Bachelor’s Degrees at the university, and is currently employed by the Pathway Partners Mentoring Program, A United Way Program located inside the Marshfield High School.

She chose UWSP because it was close to home, which meant less time commuting to gain a quality education.

“UWSP helped me prepare for this career by refining necessary skills for leading and working in teams,” said Sternweis. “UWSP also has awesome faculty and staff which are instrumental in preparing students to succeed.”

Sternweis is currently involved with United Way, Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY) and MACY’s Mental Health Workgroup. Additionally, she is a member of this year’s Leadership Marshfield class.

“UWSP fosters community involvement by offering many opportunities to give back to the University and the community at large through organizations such as Student Ambassadors and Student Senate,” she said. “I was able to polish many skills which help me in my community role including: time management, organization, tenacity, and work ethic.”

“Equally important are communication skill such as speaking, listening, writing, and preparing presentations,” she added. “I was also able to sharpen my research and investigative skills at UWSP.”
