Submitted to OnFocus – Marshfield, September 23, 2020—Marshfield Area United Way is recruiting volunteers to participate in National Make a Difference Day, Saturday, October 24, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. On this morning, participants will be raking leaves for elderly and disabled Marshfield residents in need of assistance with their yards.

Make A Difference Day is a great event to help out your community with close family, friends, church groups and/or co-workers. A little bit of time, a little bit of muscle and a lot of heart will make a big difference for Marshfield residents who are physically unable to rake their lawns themselves. Volunteers interested in helping on this day can register at volunteermarshfield.org, by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling 715-384-9992.

Volunteers are asked to register in advance so United Way can estimate how many lawns can be raked during the event. United Way asks that volunteers bring their own rakes and have their own transportation. A light snack and water will be provided. Although this event is outside, please remember to practice social distancing guidelines.

Residents in need of assistance with their lawns should call United Way prior to October 16th to see if they qualify for assistance. Please note anyone receiving help on this day must be home on the morning of October 24. Additionally, residents are responsible for providing enough leaf bags to bag all the leaves raked by the volunteers.

Please contact United Way at 715-384-9992 with any questions.
