The Thorp Cardinals won their 4th regional title in the last 5 years with a 9-4 win over Athens.
Thorp was led at the plate by Elizabeth Frankawicz, who went 1-2 with 4 stolen bases, 3 RBI, and a run scored. Lainey Burkhardt went 2-3 with a stolen base and 2 runs scored. Ashlyn Abramczak went 2-4 with a stolen base, an RBI, and 2 runs scored.
Jasmine Stratton went the distance for the win, giving up 4 runs, 3 earned, on 7 hits, 5 walks, and 11 strikeouts.
Athens was led at the plate by Abby Diethelm, who went 1-4 with a home run, a double, 2 RBI, and a run scored.
Jaelin Switlick got the start, going the distance, giving up 9 runs, 3 earned, on 8 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts.
Thorp next takes on Rib Lake in a Sectional Semifinal on Tuesday.
