Spencer One-Hits Gilman, Advance to Regional Semifinals

The Spencer Rocket Baseball Team got a 4-1 win over the Gilman Pirates behind a combined 1-hitter to advance to the D4 Regional Semifinals.

Reed Knecht got the start, going 3.2 innings, giving up 1 unearned run on 0 hits, 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Tyler Peterson went the final 3.1 innings, giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts.

The Rockets were led at the plate by Carter Luepke, who went 3-4 with 2 RBI. Madden Prybylski went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Wes Nieman went 1-3 with a double.

Tate Krizan got the lone hit for the Pirates. Beau Pockat hit into an error that scored Lucas Halida for the lone Pirates run.

Dawson Grunseth went the distance for the Pirates, giving up 4 runs, 3 earned, on 10 hits, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts.

Spencer advances to take on Rib Lake in a Regional Semifinal on Tuesday.
