SPENCER, WI (OnFocus) – In response to a Tornado Watch issued by the National Weather Service for several counties in central and west-central Wisconsin, including Marathon County, Spencer Public Schools has activated its storm shelter at the school dome.
Door 12, located by the dome, will open at 3:30 PM today to provide shelter for community members seeking safety from potential severe weather.
Due to school operations, the fitness center will be used as the primary shelter space if students are present in the gym area. If the gym is not in use by students, it will be opened to accommodate additional shelter needs.
The Spencer Fire Department and Ambulance Service will be stationed at the dome to assist the public during the shelter activation period.
