Fundraiser Seeks Volunteers and Raffle Donations
MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Soup or Socks, a vital food pantry and clothes closet serving the Marshfield community, is hosting its annual Empty Bowls fundraiser on March 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Marshfield Eagle’s Club (1104 S Oak Ave, Marshfield, WI 54449). This annual event aims to raise funds to support local families in need while bringing the community together over a warm meal.
“I’m very excited for my first ever Empty Bowls, and we are all very excited about our new location at the Eagles Club!” said Lindsay Behounek, Director of Soup or Socks. “2024 saw a rise in need for pantry clients and 2025 is already trending in the same direction. We are so grateful to be a part of such a supportive community.”
The event offers two meal options: a bowl of soup for $12 (one 12 oz serving) or a flight of soup for $17 (one 12 oz cup plus three 4 oz cups of soup). Each ticket includes a ceramic bowl to take home as a reminder of the fight against hunger in our community. The event is dine-in only.
Soup or Socks is seeking raffle item donations from local businesses and community members. These donated items will help raise additional funds during the event. In addition, volunteers are needed to assist with event setup, serving, and cleanup.
In 2024, Soup or Socks provided essential services to 1,156 households, helping over 3,000 individuals by distributing 45,840 meals—equating to nearly $465,276 worth of food assistance. The organization also operates a diaper bank, clothing closet, and provides support for local families in need.
“The Empty Bowls event is a big source of support by both our sponsors and attendees alike in helping to keep items in stock at the pantry,” added Behounek. “We are reaching out to several new potential sponsors this year and I’m hopeful this will be the best year yet!”
