Brevin Brahmer’s walkoff single got Rib Lake Baseball a 5-4 win over Columbus Catholic.

Columbus would open the scoring in the first on a Devlin Timmler sacrifice fly, scoring Carson Eckes.

Rib Lake would respond in the bottom of the 1st, starting with Brady Heiser’s RBI single, scoring Talon Scheithauer, then Brahmer hit a 2-RBI double, making it 3-1.

Columbus would get another run in the top of the 2nd, as Ray Becker would get an RBI bases-loaded walk, but Rib Lake would get out of the jam when Timmler grounded to 3rd.

Rib Lake would get the run back in the bottom of the 2nd, when Slade Scheithauer would reach on an error, scoring Lucas Cook.

Then the pitchers took over until the top of the 7th, when Drew Lang would ground into a fielder’s choice, scoring Ryan Bernick. Then Eckes would do the same, tying the game at 4.

Talon Scheithauer would lead off the bottom of the 7th with a triple, and after two intentional walks, Brahmer would single to center, scoring Scheithauer and giving Rib Lake the win.

Talon Scheithauer would get the start for the Redmen, going 4.2 innings, giving up 2 earned runs, on 3 hits, 6 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Slade Scheithauer would go the next 1.2 innings, giving up 2 earned runs, on 2 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. Seth Borchart would get the final 2 outs and the win, not giving up a run on 1 hit and 1 strikeout.

Devlin Timmler would get the start for the Dons, he would go 4.2 innings, giving up 4 runs, 3 earned, on 5 hits, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Ray Becker would go the final 1.1 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts.

Columbus Catholic next plays Greenwood on Thursday. Rib Lake next plays Gilman on Tuesday, May 27th.
