MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Local golf enthusiasts and animal lovers alike are invited to swing into action at the 8th Annual Putts Fore Pets Golf Scramble, benefiting the Marshfield Area Pet Shelter (MAPS). The event will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Marshfield Country Club, located at 11426 Wren Rd.
The popular fundraiser combines friendly competition with a powerful cause—supporting the care and adoption of homeless pets in the Marshfield area. Registration is $380 per 4-person team, which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, raffle opportunities, and chances to win exciting prizes. The day begins with check-in at 9:00 AM, followed by a shotgun start at 10:00 AM, rain or shine.
One of the event’s highlights is the Hole-in-One Challenge, featuring a $10,000 grand prize sponsored by Forward Insurance (1001 N Central Ave, Marshfield). This thrilling opportunity adds an extra layer of excitement to an already highly anticipated event.
“It’s always a fantastic event, with many participants eagerly anticipating a friendly round of golf alongside colleagues, all while contributing to a worthy cause—helping animals,” said Karen Rau, Executive Director of MAPS. “This year, the excitement builds with a $10,000 prize for a lucky golfer, made possible through the generous support of our partner, Forward Insurance.”
Proceeds from the event will directly benefit MAPS, which operates entirely on community support. Located at 3500 Downwind Drive, the shelter cares for approximately 750 animals annually. With no state or federal funding, MAPS relies on donations and fundraising events like this one to cover roughly 80% of its $350,000 annual operating budget.
The funds raised help MAPS reunite lost pets with their families and provide care and forever homes for homeless animals in the region.
