Timothy F. Laessig, 85, Stratford, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025.
Tim was born on August 8, 1940 in Stratford to Earl and Jennie (Kohl) Laessig. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Stratford High School. He then went on to serve in the United States Army.
He was united in marriage to Joan Kupfer on September 30, 1967. They were married for 56 years. She passed away on August 31, 2024.
Tim worked for Rollohome/Wisconsin Homes, Inc. as a superintendent until his retirement in 2002. He then worked as a handyman for several years. Tim enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, fixing things, and joking around.
He is survived by his daughters: Tina Hoefs of Stratford, Tammy Strebe (Travis) of Marshfield, Tracy O’Brien (Mike) of Chili, and Tanya Sly (Jeff) of Chippewa Falls. She is also survived by nine grandchildren – Tim, Joey, Randy, and Brian Hoefs; Cassandra and Skylar Strebe; Shawna Tinder and Siara O’Brien; Brooke Sly, and six great grandchildren.
He is further survived by his siblings, Joyce Pai, Sylvia Pangborn, Caroline Pretsch, Barbara Lafleur, Marty Laessig, Janice Lee, and Steve (Norene) Laessig.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister Joan in infancy, brothers Jerry, Neil, Arnie, and Larry, sisters Margaret Nelson and Phyllis Doll, brothers in law Bill Pai, Maynard Doll, Keith Pangborn, Jerry Pretsch, Tom Lafleur, and Norbert Lee.
A celebration of his life will be held from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and service will be at 3:00 pm at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home in Stratford on Thursday, December 18, 2025 with Deacon Ray Draeger officiating. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #6352 – Stratford at the funeral home.
