With the NFL Draft coming on April 29, NFL teams looking to make trades in this year’s draft utilize values for each draft pick when making trades of draft picks.
How do they determine the values for each pick that gets traded? The draft pick chart below is used by teams, with multiple factors influencing how they package picks in trades.
To use the chart, teams strive to match values for each pick in a trade.
For instance, if a team wanted to move up to the top spot in the draft, 3,000 draft value points would be a fair trade. If the Philadelphia Eagles, for instance, wanted to trade for the top pick they would need to package their first pick (1,600 points) plus approximately 1400 more points. The only way they could? Include a first round pick next year.
