MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – The Marshfield Police Department responded to several significant incidents this past weekend, ranging from drug-related arrests and traffic violations to domestic disturbances and battery against law enforcement. Below is a summary of notable events as reported by officers:
May 10, 2025 – Resisting Arrest and Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer
At approximately 3:08 a.m., a traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of W 14th Street and Schmidt Avenue. A 22-year-old Pittsville man was taken into custody for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) — 1st offense. While being evaluated at Marshfield Medical Center, the individual became combative with officers. He was transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges of Resisting an Officer and Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer have been referred to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
May 10, 2025 – Possession of Marijuana
Later that day, around 2:13 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near East Becker Road and North Irene Avenue for a speeding violation. A K9 unit was deployed, and a subsequent vehicle search led to the discovery of suspected marijuana. Charges have been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.
May 11, 2025 – Disturbance and Battery Arrest
At approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of North Central Avenue. A 27-year-old male was located at a nearby location and taken into custody. He was later released, and police have recommended charges of Disorderly Conduct and Battery.
May 11, 2025 – Drug Possession, OWI, and Active Warrant Arrest
In the early morning hours at around 2:37 a.m., officers were alerted to a vehicle that ran a red light and collided with a utility pole near 4th and Central Avenue. The driver, a 32-year-old Green Bay man, was found to have an active Department of Corrections warrant. Upon arrest, a significant quantity of a controlled substance and cash was found. The suspect refused field sobriety testing, prompting a court-approved blood draw. He now faces multiple charges including OWI, Resisting Arrest, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.
May 11, 2025 – Domestic Disturbance and Battery
At 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of South Central Avenue. A 19-year-old Marshfield man was arrested at the scene for disorderly conduct and battery related to a domestic incident. He was booked into the Wood County Jail, and charges have been filed accordingly.
