NORTHERN WISCONSIN, WI (OnFocus) – The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Freeze Warning for much of north central and northeast Wisconsin, effective from 10 p.m. tonight through 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Forecasters warn that sub-freezing temperatures ranging from the middle 20s to lower 30s are expected overnight, with frost and freeze conditions likely to affect residents across several counties, including Vilas, Oneida, Forest, Florence, Lincoln, Langlade, Menominee, Oconto, and Marinette.
The warning covers communities such as Eagle River, Rhinelander, Crandon, Merrill, Antigo, Oconto, Peshtigo, and surrounding areas.
Expected Impacts
- Crops and sensitive vegetation: Unprotected plants could be severely damaged or killed.

- Cover or bring tender plants indoors.
- Drain or insulate outdoor pipes and irrigation systems.
- Protect pets and livestock from prolonged exposure to the cold.
The warning remains in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday, after which temperatures are expected to gradually rebound.
