MILLADORE, WI (OnFocus) – This June, the Sandhill Wildlife Area is offering two exciting opportunities for nature enthusiasts to connect with the outdoors through creative and educational workshops, hosted by the Friends of Sandhill. Whether you’re looking to craft your own gear or learn about edible wild plants, these events provide a memorable way to engage with Wisconsin’s natural environment.
Walking Stick Workshop – June 7, 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM
Kicking off the month’s programming, the Walking Stick Workshop on Saturday, June 7 invites participants to create their own personalized walking or hiking stick. Two sessions are available: 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM.
Natural hardwood sticks will be provided. Participants can decorate their sticks using wood burners, paints, feathers, beads, and other creative materials. This workshop is suitable for all ages, though children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The fee is $5 if registered by June 4, and $10 for late registration. Space is limited.
