Everest Hangs on to Defeat Wisconsin Rapids
D.C. Everest downed Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln 7-4 in Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball.
D.C. Everest Varsity Evergreens were the first to get on the board in the third when an error scored two runs.
Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Varsity Red Raiders tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a fielder’s choice by Ethan Dillingham, and a double by Jordan Szelagowski. A fielder’s choice by Landyn Freeman gave Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Varsity Red Raiders the lead, 3-2, in the top of the sixth.
Everest came back to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth, using six hits to plate five runs.
Nevin Poppy earned the win for D.C. Everest Varsity Evergreens. Gage Honeyager took the loss for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Varsity Red Raiders. The pitcher went one-third of an inning, giving up four runs on five hits, striking out none and walking none. Cole O’Brien opened the game for D.C. Everest Varsity Evergreens.
