City Clerk’s Office Seeks Election Workers for Upcoming Elections
The Marshfield City Clerk’s Office is calling on community members to serve as election workers for the upcoming elections. These positions are essential to ensuring fair, accurate, and transparent elections, while protecting the integrity of the democratic process.
Election Worker Roles
Chief Election Inspector
- Manages polling locations on Election Day
- Officially opens and closes the polls
- Supervises election staff and assists voters
- Works directly with the City Clerk to ensure smooth operations
- Oversees setup and takedown of polling sites
- Additional training is required
Election Inspector
- Prepares and sets up the polling place
- Registers voters and verifies identification
- Issues ballots and records participation
- Monitors election equipment
- Completes required Election Day forms
- Assists with tallying write-in votes and closing the polls
Ballot Counter
- Guides voters in placing ballots into the tabulator
- Ensures ballots are properly counted
- Distributes “I Voted” stickers
- Requires limited use of technology
