MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – MMCCU (Marshfield Medical Center Credit Union) is proud to announce that Business Development Specialist Tiffany Schara has successfully completed the Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP), earning the designation of Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC). She joins Senior VP of Lending Jerry Litwaitis and President David Murphy in this accomplishment.
The FiCEP program, offered through a partnership between the Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation, America’s Credit Unions, and CU Difference, is designed to strengthen the ability of credit union professionals to provide trusted financial guidance. Participants engage in nine educational webinars followed by an in-person session, where they complete a rigorous 100-question proctored exam.
By completing this certification, Schara has furthered her commitment to supporting members in achieving greater financial well-being. As a CCUFC, she is equipped with the skills to help members gain control of their financial future through practical, real-world counseling approaches.
“I pursued this certification because it would enable me to offer our members and the community an additional aspect of service that I am already passionate about: empowerment through education and knowledge,” said Schara. “The certification validates that knowledge base and enables me to present myself as a viable and trustworthy resource for our members and community.”
FiCEP equips credit union professionals to make financial counseling an integral part of daily member interactions. The program benefits not only individual members but also the wider credit union community by building trust, increasing value, and fostering a culture of financial empowerment.
“Investing in our staff is ultimately a benefit to our members. At MMCCU, we want to provide you with personalized service and learn about your unique financial situation,” said MMCCU President David Murphy. “The FiCEP training equips our staff with the tools to confidently discuss your finances with you. The goal is to send the full team through the certification training. Currently, our three Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors (CCUFC), Jerry Litwaitis, Tiffany Schara, and I are ready and able to help!”
With Schara’s accomplishment, MMCCU continues to strengthen its mission of helping members improve their financial lives and build long-term stability.
