MADISON, WI (OnFocus) -Two lucky Wisconsin Lottery players are celebrating significant wins from the May 28 drawings of Powerball and Badger 5.
A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at a convenience store in Wausau, while a Badger 5 jackpot ticket worth $125,000 was purchased at a gas station in Kohler.
The winning Powerball ticket matched four of the five white balls—23, 27, 32, 35, and 59—plus the Powerball, which was 11.
The Badger 5 winning numbers were 14, 19, 24, 26, and 31.
According to a store manager in Kohler, this marks the largest prize sold at that location since a change in ownership. “It was an exciting morning,” the manager said. “My boss texted me about it as soon as he found out.”
The Badger 5 game has seen five jackpots won in May alone and 33 total so far in 2025, with ten of those exceeding $100,000.
Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent commission as part of the Lottery’s incentive program, capped at $100,000.
Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes. Ticket validation and prize claim information is available through the Wisconsin Lottery website or mobile app.
Badger 5 is a Wisconsin-only game with daily drawings. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 169,911.
Powerball drawings occur three times a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The odds of winning the $50,000 Powerball prize are 1 in 913,130. The jackpot for the next Powerball drawing, scheduled for Saturday, is estimated at $207 million.
