Auburndale Baseball Walks-off Stratford on Past Ball

Truxton Becker scored on a past ball in the bottom of the 8th to get the Auburndale Eagles a come-from-behind extra-inning win over Stratford, 4-3.

Auburndale scored first in the bottom of the 3rd when Colton Brandl reached on an error, B Raab scored to make it 1-0.

Stratford would respond in the top of the 4th when Drew Gage hit a 2-RBI double to give Stratford a 2-1 lead. The Tigers would tack one more on in the top of the 5th when Jaeger Ormond reached on an error, allowing Jack Tubbs to score, giving Stratford a 3-1 win.

Auburndale started the comeback in the bottom of the 5th when Brandl reached on a dropped 3rd strike, allowing Blake Raab to score on the play, making it 3-2.

Auburndale would tie it in the bottom of the 7th, when Aayden Raab grounded into a fielder’s choice at 2nd, allowing J Lundgren to score the tying run.

After a 1-2-3 top of the 8th, and an intentional walk to Blake Raab to load the bases, a past ball allowed Becker to score, giving Auburndale the walk-off 4-3 win.

Blake Raab went all 8 innings, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on 8 hits, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts.

Drew Gage got the start for Stratford, going 4 innings, giving up 2 unearned runs, on 1 hit, 7 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Brady Berg went the final 3.2 innings, giving up 2 unearned runs, on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts.
