Athens would get a few insurance runs when Daxton Diethelm would drive in 2 runs in the top of the 7th.
Kaleb Cracraft got the start, going the distance, not allowing a run, on 3 hits, 1 walk, and 15 strikeouts.
Hardy Hueckman 4 got the start, going 6 innings, giving up 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits, 4 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Ryder Jones would go the final inning, giving up 2 earned runs, on 4 hits, 1 walk.
Athens is one game back of Rib Lake for the Marawood North title. To take a share of the title, Athens needs to win at home against Prentice on Thursday and have Chequamegon beat Rib Lake.
